Sometimes, it surprises me what this old noggin is capable of producing...

I just woke up from the craziest dream. My virtual self was out on the town (Who knows. Universal Studios town???) and decided to drop by the theater. The movie playing was a new Resident Evil flick. All in 3-D. Only, this one had quite a few more features. We're talking something along the lines of a hybrid stage play and movie experience. About half way back from the big screen...or, I should say screens, were the usual set of seats. Upon entry, I was handed more then the 3-D glasses...but, this NES Zapper looking light gun.  Told to put on the glasses immediately, I found some sort of objects that weren't physically there. Fuzzy and flashing, I tried the gun out and it was like a kind of shooting gallery. (Talk about some special glasses!)

Oh, but that wasn't the craziest part. The upper section of the theater has some rather unique, almost sculpture style seating. One looked like an unpainted Jeep on a pedistal. Another looked like a seat nailed to a giant rectangle. Some other odd shaped seats and one that looked like it was inside a monotoned helicopter, up in the air, were there, too. Just some ramblings about the movie and personal life behind this cut that made the entry look cluttered in the preview window... )And, then there was something that I hadn't experienced since way back in the 1980's...being able to provide a show to an audience on a public arcade machine. If you're as old as me, you might actually remember the days when arcades were simpler (heck...existed.) and it was possible for one person to play with a dozen more around, just observing. Even more rambling... )

    AVATAR DAY :o

oh god... it's going to be a long day, and i'm going to be exhausted by 3:30 or whenever it is i get home... but i'll be up north at the IMAX theatre at 11am to try and get a good seat for the noon showing, and holy crap, i know it's going to be awesome. :D
I saved a prickly pear Syzmo* for the occasion so hopefully i won't nod off during the film. That would be lame.
Blue people with tails, fuuuuck yeah.

    * A delicious organic energy drink that is a perfect size to conceal in my jacket! And also the perfect size to be refreshing yet not of quantity enough to make me have to get up and go to the bathroom (and thus miss anything) heh.

I haven't been this excited about seeing a film in a while... District 9 was close, but not quite the same level. ...am i susceptible to hype? I dunno... i think even if there was no hype i would still be pretty damn excited.
I know that once i visit Pandora through the immersion of moviegoing i'm not going to want to return. That's how beautiful worlds are...

Also, it's an amusing contrast that the other Pandora i've been visiting lately is [almost literally] a garbage heap. Such an ugly place! The New Haven on that Pandora actually makes New Haven Connecticut look nice, lol. Not an easy thing.
    (Been playing Borderlands.)

Better than twenty pounds and sixpence

In Charles Dickens' novel David Copperfield, a character named Wilkins Micawber, who has perpetual troubles with debt, expresses his appreciation of his predicament in what is one of the best known quotes from the novel:

"Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure nineteen pounds nineteen and six, result happiness.  Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure twenty pounds ought and six, result misery."

Mr. Micawber was always short on money.  Given my busy schedule lately as work brings us to the end of the fiscal year, I am running short on sleep ... which is every bit as pernicious as Mr. Micawber's bad habit, as I am trying to borrow time instead of money.

So allow me to opine this:

Alarm set for 7:15am, rolling over in bed and seeing that it reads 6:59, result happiness.  Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

    -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

A sign of the times?  I have a new mobile phone, so its built-in dictionary is pretty much virgin of all the aspects of my personality that will gradually impregnate it as I send more and more messages and it learns of my ways.  So I was quite amused, when I was sending a text message that included the abbreviation "WRT" (with respect to), that the phone helpfully corrected this to ... WTF.

    WTF?!  :)

Might as well be a Bananaphone

    *ding ding ding, ding ding-a-ding-a-ding!*

    *ding ding ding, ding ding-a-ding-a-ding!*

    *ding ding ding, ding ding-a-ding-a-ding!*

Hmmmmmm, someone's mobile phone, somewhere in the office, is ringing.  It's kinda muffled ... probably on the other side of the floor somewhere.

    *ding ding ding, ding ding-a*

Yup, it went to voice mail.  Probably got abandoned on someone's desk when they went to the bathroom or something.

    *ding ding ding, ding ding-a-ding-a-ding!*

    *ding ding ding, ding ding-a-ding-a-ding!*

    *ding ding ding, ding ding-a-ding-a-ding!*

Man, someone's trying to reach that person rather urgently.  They really should answer their phone.  Oh well ... it went to voice mail again.  Back to work!

    *ding ding ding, ding ding-a-ding-a-ding!*

Aw, come on, answer your stinking phone!

    *ding ding ding, ding ding-a-ding-a-ding!*

*ding ding ... *  Oh crud, that's me!  Hello!  Hello, yes, sorry about that ...

Ah, the joys of having just acquired a new, unfamiliar mobile phone, and then keeping it in my pocket so from under my desk it sounds as though it's coming from far away ...  :)
